Mevasis Is Now an Official BeeGFS Partner

Announcement
We are pleased to announce that Mevasis is now an official partner for the BeeGFS parallel file system. With this partnership we deliver BeeGFS licensing, deployment and enterprise-grade technical support directly to organizations in Turkey. In the field we see storage become the bottleneck of HPC clusters and AI infrastructure again and again; BeeGFS is one of the most mature answers to that problem.
What is BeeGFS?
BeeGFS is a leading parallel cluster file system, built with a strong focus on performance and designed to be easy to install and manage. It originated at the Fraunhofer Center for High Performance Computing and is developed today by ThinkParQ. In short: if your workloads are I/O-intensive and storage can’t keep up with your compute, BeeGFS exists to close that gap.
For a detailed look at the architecture and components, see our BeeGFS product page.
Why BeeGFS?
Four core qualities set BeeGFS apart from other storage solutions.
Transparently spreads data across servers
BeeGFS transparently distributes user data across multiple storage servers. Applications see a single file system, while file contents are striped across servers in the background. As you add servers and disks, capacity and performance grow together — from a cluster of a few nodes to enterprise systems with thousands.
Maximum scalability for data and metadata
Not only file contents but metadata is distributed too. Because the metadata namespace is partitioned dynamically, operations such as opening, creating and listing files also scale with the number of servers. According to figures published by ThinkParQ, a single process can stream around 8 GB/s over a 100 Gbit network.
Flexibility: fits your existing infrastructure
- Broad Linux distribution and kernel support — not tied to any specific distribution.
- Storage services run on top of an existing local file system (XFS, ext4); no dedicated partitions required.
- Clients and servers can be added to a running system without downtime.
- Runs over TCP/IP as well as RDMA over InfiniBand and RoCE.
Get more out of your data
Thanks to its flexibility, robustness and performance, BeeGFS delivers results faster and enables new data analysis methods that storage limits previously ruled out. Processors compute instead of waiting for data — which means more work from the same hardware.
Where is it used?
BeeGFS is used worldwide in scientific computing, life sciences and genomics, finance, oil and gas (seismic processing), media and rendering, and automotive and engineering simulation. In recent years, AI and LLM training infrastructure working with large datasets has become its fastest-growing use case.
What this partnership means for you
As an official partner, Mevasis provides:
- Licensing — BeeGFS enterprise support subscriptions supplied from Turkey with local invoicing.
- Architecture design — sizing of servers, disks and network (InfiniBand or RoCE) against your capacity, bandwidth and IOPS targets.
- Deployment and integration — integration with Slurm, PBS or Kubernetes; striping and metadata tuning per workload.
- Enterprise support — on-site and remote support in Turkish and English; performance optimization and version upgrades.
If you already run BeeGFS, we can also take over support and carry out a performance assessment. Service scope is detailed on our BeeGFS solution page, and the technical deep dive is in our BeeGFS technical guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
The core BeeGFS components are free to use. Enterprise features such as high availability via buddy mirroring, quota enforcement and storage pools, together with vendor support, come with a commercial support subscription. Mevasis provides these subscriptions in Turkey.
Both are mature parallel file systems. BeeGFS stands out for ease of installation and management, requiring no kernel patches, and its flexibility. Our parallel file systems article covers the detailed comparison.
Learn MoreYes. BeeGFS is POSIX-compliant, so applications need no changes; migration is done through a planned data transfer. We cover the differences in our BeeGFS vs NFS comparison.
Learn MoreSmall deployments can even run on a single server; production environments usually start with separate metadata and storage servers and add servers as demand grows. The right starting size depends on your workload — we can work it out together.
